The UK Quality Ash Association introduced us to a whole new world back in 2013. Ash may sound like a dull subject, but it’s not: it’s a technically colourful science that positively influences construction. And yet, back then, many associated brands offered little to dispel this misnomer. Cue Verso. We stepped in to shake-up the industry with a radical contemporary rebrand, repositioning and relaunch of UKQAA. And our creative partnership continues to this very day as we keep the brand’s offering on point in a dynamically evolving sector.

Power Minerals Limited was affectionately known within the industry as ‘PML’… that was our cue to simplify and create a brand identity that reflects its friendly culture. As the UK’s leading supplier of power station ash, PML are the unsung heroes behind many successful infrastructure projects. As coal-fired power stations slowly decline you’d expect those in the industry to be worried about the impact. Not PML. They have innovative solutions that will maintain the supply of coal fly ash for years to come. We’re proud to help PML fly their flag and show that this grey resource has a bright future.

From the seed of an idea sewn in our Stafford studio to an impeccable journal read by thousands around the world, ASHES magazine brings the latest ash-industry news and thinking to a niche global audience. When designing a platform for international influencers you’ve got to get everything right. From positioning the brand to creating a tone of voice that translates on every continent, the twice-yearly publishing of ASHES magazine allows us to put our passion for typography to the test.

Picking up the baton of an established European Conference is no mean feat, but elevating the occasion to heights worthy of its 10th Anniversary takes considerable effort and a wealth of knowledge. When the new guardian of AshTrans asked us to help with realising his dream we were happy to oblige and helped with branding and promoting a glitzy affair at Manchester’s Lowry Theatre. Subsequent conferences in Rome and Prague have been so successful that plans are now afoot for travelling stateside.
